Each website has a readability level, it refers to how easily the search engines can read the content on your site. Not only will easy-to-read content help your readers to understand your marketing message but it’ll also help your SEO.
You can test out your website’s reading levels by going to Google and clicking ‘advanced search’ which is below the ‘search’ button.
Type in your website’s URL and choose a reading level to view. Or you can select ‘annotate results with reading levels’ which will label every page of your website:

The results will appear like so:

The average web user has a really short attention span; in fact most people will judge your website within 6.4 seconds. People scan rather than read these days. So if you have any ‘advanced’ pages, (unless your website talks about quantum physics and the like!) you might want to address and reword some of your copy.
