Welcome

Here at COASTS, we’re dedicated to the promotion of positive mental health for young people. Our small, friendly team has built a reputation for providing services which promote the emotional and mental well-being of children and young adults – helping to get their lives back on track.

Working with people from across Plymouth and the wider Devon and Cornwall region, we offer a range of counselling and support services for young people and parents. We also provide a variety of training courses and workshops for young people and for professionals whose work relates to young people’s well-being – or for anyone else seeking to get to grips with the complexities of mental health issues.

Training for practitioners and young people

For practitioners working with young people, COASTS offers training to make you better equipped to identify, understand and manage mental health issues arising in your professional setting. Our courses and workshops have been met with acclaim by the teachers, pastoral staff, health professionals, social workers and others who have participated in them.

We also run a popular selection of workshops and courses for young people. These are designed to educate children and young people in schools and colleges about the spectrum of mental health and to help them find positive ways of building and maintaining their own mental well-being.

If there isn’t anything among our extensive range of practitioners’ or young people’s courses that’s quite right for you, we can work with you to design a bespoke course tailored to your exact needs. Give us a call to discuss your ideas and we’d be happy to talk through the options.

Counselling and support

If you’re a young person – or you know a young person – who needs to talk to someone, COASTS can help. Our fully-trained counsellors are specialists who can help you work through the problem you’re up against, whether it’s an eating disorder, exam stress or something else entirely. We can also help if you’re a parent or practitioner in need of support.

Whatever your reason for coming to us, you’re assured of a service that’s not only professional and confidential, but also one that’s friendly, open and non-judgmental.
